Shotsy
vs pinning.

Shotsy is the most established GLP-1 tracker: over a million downloads, iOS and Android, most of it free. pinning covers peptides as well as GLP-1, keeps the concentration curve free where Shotsy sells it, and ties every dose to the vial it came from. Shotsy is the safer choice for GLP-1 alone.

We make pinning, so this is not an independent review. Everything below about Shotsy was checked on 6 September 2026 against what they publish themselves. Prices and features move — check theirs before deciding.

What Shotsy is

A GLP-1 medication tracker — shots, doses, side effects, weight — built around the weekly injection and the weight curve that follows it. It has been around longer than anything else in this category and shows it.

Where Shotsy is stronger

It is proven, and we are not

Over a million downloads and a 4.8 rating. pinning has not launched. If you want the thing most people already use, that is Shotsy and it is not close.

Android, and Apple Health

Shotsy runs on both platforms and syncs nutrition with Apple Health. pinning is iOS only and syncs with nothing — there is no Android build and no Health integration.

A report you can hand a doctor

Shotsy exports a PDF for an appointment. pinning exports your data as JSON, which is honest but is not something you print out and take with you.

Where pinning differs

The curve is free

Shotsy puts its estimated medication level behind Shotsy+ — it is the one thing they charge for. In pinning the concentration curve is a core feature and stays free, on the free tier, permanently.

A pin names its vial

Logging a dose in pinning records which vial it came out of, so depletion is counted rather than estimated and the inventory cannot silently drift from reality. Shotsy tracks supply, but not per-dose to a specific vial.

Peptides, not only GLP-1

Shotsy is GLP-1 by design and says so. pinning treats any injection schedule the same way, which matters if your protocol is not one weekly shot.

Shotsy is free to use with a paid tier for the medication-level chart; the figure circulating for that tier is around $59.99 a year. Ours is €9.99 a month or €89.99 a year, and the tracking is free at any tier.

Choose Shotsy if

You are on a GLP-1 and nothing else, you want the app with the longest track record, you are on Android, or you need a PDF to take to an appointment.

Choose pinning if

Your schedule involves more than one compound, you want the level curve without paying for it, or you care that each dose is booked against a particular vial.

— Common questions

What is the best alternative to Shotsy?

It depends what you are tracking. For GLP-1 alone Shotsy is hard to beat on maturity and platform coverage. For a schedule with several compounds, or if you want the concentration curve without a paid tier, pinning covers that ground differently.

Does Shotsy track peptides as well as GLP-1?

Shotsy is built for GLP-1 medications and describes itself that way. Trackers that cover research peptides as well include Regimen and pinning.

Is Shotsy free?

The core of it is, which is unusual in this category. The estimated medication level chart is the paid feature. In pinning that chart is free and the paid tier covers volume and convenience instead.
